What You’ll Learn
Taught by instructors with real outdoor and emergency response experience, you’ll cover:
- Scene assessment and communication in remote settings
- Primary and secondary survey
- Managing unconscious casualties and performing CPR
- Bleeding, fractures, dislocations, head and spinal injuries
- Heat and cold injuries: hypothermia, frostbite, heat stroke
- Bites, stings, allergies, asthma, and anaphylaxis
- Evacuation decisions and incident management
- Use of outdoor-specific equipment like improvised stretchers and splints
Course Duration: 16 hours (typically over 2 days)
Assessment: Continuous practical assessment
Certification: Valid for 3 years and recognised by outdoor NGBs
